Crochet Through 2026

 January:

For Christmas, my husband got me a crochet kit (Link here), that has 4 different crochet plants. This one took me two days, the first day I did the pot and the second day I did the cactus. Here is a summary of my experience.

Difficulty: Easy ☑☑▢▢▢

Materials: Crochet hook (3mm), Yarn (white, brown, pink, black and green), safety eyes, a yarn needle, and a stitch marker.

Thoughts: The kit came with all the necessary materials which was really nice and the materials were nice quality. The kit came with an instruction manual, with how to do the different stitches, and specific instructions for each of the 4 projects.

As far as completing the cactus, the instructions were easy to read and follow. The only problem I had with the instructions was that at every start of a round it had a chain, and every end of the round was a slip stitch. I am used to just continuing the round. So, I did that with the pot and ended up with a misshapen pot in the back. So, for the cactus, I ignored the beginning chain and ending slip stitch and it was much easier for me.

Changes I would make: First, I would just start with no slip stitch and beginning chain from the beginning. I also would add a weight to the pot. Because it definitely falls over.
