Rating: I have finished the first book but am holding off on the rating and review until I finish the second book. I am currently about 30% through on 1/27

Chapter 1 - 5:
First impressions: reminds me of Dire Bound and Eragon right away. Our FMC, Katerina (Kat) is a typical poor, pretty much orphaned 22year old. We have mention of a male interest, Cole, who she grew up with but at this point I don’t think he will be our love interest but I guess we will see. The goal for Katerina after she finds the dragon egg is to take it to the Northern Dragon Lands. We also find out her dad was part of the rebellion, that is for the existence of dragons.
Chapter 6-17:
Okay I change my mind, sort of. Maybe Cole is the love interest. But I also have a feeling he may betray her at some point. I don't know, I am up in the air about it at the moment. I flew through these chapters, and did not want to stop reading, but it was midnight and I had the next day off so I talked myself into sleeping by saying to myself, I would have the whole next day to go back to it. The dragon, Daeja, is cute as a small dragon and in these chapters, we see her grow and now get to hear her thoughts through Kat's head.
17-28 🌶️
I knew it! There was something fishy about Cole and now I know why!
We get a few spicy scenes 🌶️in these chapter too. We get to see her attraction to both Cole and Darian, so is an asshole to everyone but seems to have taken a liking to her.
Chapters 28 - 38
We find out more about Darians family here. I think he may be end game here. But he is still growing on me. Cole is down to the bottom of the barrel in my book for now. At chapter 35, I’m 83% done with the book, I’m thinking the end something will happen and Kat and Daeja will need to make a getaway and it will end on some type of cliffhanger that will leave me mad because I don’t think the next book is released yet. Why do I keep doing this to myself??
Also I think Darian is also a dragon rider….

I was right. In that they made it to the dragon lands. I was wrong about Darian. And it absolutely ended in a cliffhanger!!
Luckily the 2nd one is already published and it’s a duelology so this is going to be great!
